Training Workshop – Module Overview

Innesskirk’s innovative “Managing Professional Meetings”  is an intensive program addressing an integral management and leadership skill with clear, practical guidelines every step of the way.

Tutorial sessions, case studies, practical exercises, presentations and syndicate work make this a proactive, hands-on course.

Delegates will be asked to identify a project where the techniques and skills learned during the course can be implemented within an identified period of time.

Post Workshop - IMPACT™ Program

IMPACT™ Project – Delegates identify a work-related project during the last hour of the training that will be used as a measurable indicator of successful application and implementation of the training content.

IMPACT™ Coaching – The delegates participate in custom-designed coaching sessions to facilitate the completion of their IMPACT™ Project.   Delegates document the project’s life cycle and all related issues in the provided coaching booklet.

Workshop Agenda – Day One

WELCOME

Introduction And Course Objectives
Agenda begins with the introduction of course, material and methodology and pedagogy. Instructor introduces delegates through icebreaker activity.

Meetings And Overview
Segment concentrates on the identification of vital meeting components and different types of meetings; when to call a meeting and the characteristics of a great meeting.

Personal Meeting Behavior
Analyze your personal meeting behavior, both as attendant and when conducting meetings. Self-analysis allows delegates to compare it to desired behavior.

Meeting Protocols
Methods delegates can utilize to establish protocols necessary for conducting effective and professional meetings. The instructor will also cover meeting management – before, during and after meeting actions.

LUNCH

Creating An Effective Agenda
Section includes a review of agenda requirements and differing agenda styles, including following the agenda during the meeting.

Behavior And Communication During The Meeting
Understanding what type of behavior to expect, challenges that may arise and how to deal with typical examples. Delegates also cover communication barriers during meetings and methods to overcome common barriers.

Conflict During The Meeting
Delegates will learn to address conflicts which arise and disrupt meetings and techniques they can use to deal with difficult people in meetings.

Meeting Q&A Formats And Suggestions
Instructors and delegates will discuss different methods of dealing with questions and answers during a meeting. Also covered are methods to receive, document and respond to suggestions.

CLOSING
Review the main points of interest of the day and prepare for a meeting challenge - as facilitator and participant – during day two.

Workshop Agenda – Day Two

WELCOME

Effective Meetings Minutes
Delegates will practice writing effective meeting minutes, follow up and assigning responsibilities and timelines.

Meeting Practice Sessions And Review
Every delegate prepares and conducts an effective meeting. Each delegate also records minutes of other delegate’s meeting, as well as receiving tasks as meeting participants. Each delegate’s meeting is reviewed and critiqued to improve their meeting facilitation skills.

LUNCH

Group Dynamics
Group dynamics will include psychometric evaluation of teams and individuals within the team. Discussions will follow to gain an understanding of different personalities and how to meet their needs in a meeting.

Formal And Informal Meetings
Segment focuses on understanding the difference between formal and informal meetings, when to use which format and the differences between preparation and conducting each format.

Impact Of Culture On Meetings
Delegates will focus on gaining an in-depth understanding of the influence of culture on individuals, teams and the organization. Discussions will include the importance of organization culture and cross-cultural influence and management of meetings.

Identification Of IMPACT™ Project
Delegates are asked to identify a work-related project during the last hour of the training that will be used as a measurable indicator of successful application and implementation of the training content.

CLOSING
Review the main points of interest for the course, deliver course administration like evaluation, action plan, certificates.
